Peace at the Nexus: 
Evaluation &Scoping Study of ADRA Denmark's Peace Activities 

The Evaluation and Scoping Study was conducted in Uganda, South Sudan, and Yemen from October 2025 to March 2026. The study aimed to review ADRA’s peace-oriented activities in the three countries between 2022 and 2025, around three main focus areas, namely  (i) Direct Peace, encompassing a range of dialogue and conflict resolution activities spearheaded by religious and traditional leaders; (ii) Mainstreamed Peace, as seen in majorly livelihood and resource management interventions, and lastly (iii) Group-based Peace, including protection activities for the most vulnerable, with a focus on the Women, Peace and Security as well as Youth, Peace and Security Agendas.

 

Across these three streams, ADRA adopted a nexus-based approach, operationalizing the Humanitarian-Development-Peacebuilding nexus in line with contextual needs. Besides that, the study also aimed to explore future avenues through which ADRA could strengthen its peacebuilding approach and activities, thereby looking back at its past activities to look ahead and provide strategic, institutional, and operational recommendations.
