Junior Peace Fellows (JPF)
The 2026 Theme: "Peace Within, Peace Without"

The Junior Peace Fellows (JPF) is an annual youth development program offered by Responsible Peace. JPF is targeted at advanced university students and recent graduates interested in careers in international cooperation more broadly, and humanitarian, development, and peacebuilding work more specifically.

 

Besides being introduced to the basics of peace and conflict and our Peace Ecosystems Model, fellows get to work on emerging policy questions, from Youth, Peace and Security to Livelihoods for Peace. In doing so, they are familiarized with the ethical and operational tensions within the sector. Furthermore, they are offered analytical and operational tools to navigate this complex landscape.

 

Importantly, fellows get to reflect on their role as actors within the peace policy ecosystem and on their responsibilities as they act, including responsibilities related to their own psychosocial well-being – an important yet often overlooked aspect of youth professionalization and peace work more generally.
